What is Noteworthy about ‘Advantage’ Flea Dogs’ Products?

The first and foremost impressive point about the ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products is that one will not have the necessity to look for another product to complete the care for their pets against the fleas. The ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products provides the entire solution for any problem related to fleas and ticks apart from ascertaining that the problems do not reoccur. This is something which the other products and flea meds in the market fail to offer as many promise only to eliminate the existing fleas and ticks on the pets but nothing about assuring the future protection.

The ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products are one of the quickest acting flea meds which begins its protection almost immediately after it is applied on the pets. Most of them show positive signs within 24 hours and this is quite impressive to any pet owners. Some of the products in the market demand complementary additions to complete the elimination of the ticks and the fleas from the pet dogs. But the ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ are a perfect one-in-all product which can be used to kill the fleas in whatever stage they are in, be it the matured fleas, the fleas’ larvae, or the eggs. The ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products are capable to handle the fleas existing in any stages of its life cycle and they break the life cycle at multiple junctures. Thus the speed and approach in which the ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products act to control the fleas and the ticks are much noteworthy.

Shopping for ‘Advantage’ Flea Dogs’ Products

The ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products are purchasable at several compositions and quantities depending upon the needs of the pet shoppers. For instance, the ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products are available in the supplies required for 4, 6, and 12 month packs. The ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products can be chosen based on the weight of the pet dogs which can be classified under the common standards of up to 10 lbs, 11-20 lbs, 21-55 lbs, and 55-100 lbs. The cost of the ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products is also very reasonable and is further reduced with the several discounts available in the market. But it is to be remembered that these ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products linger longer on the pet dogs and are thus worth the money spent on them as the protection for the pet dogs against the fleas and ticks is much longer than what most of the other products offer. This promise of prolonged protection by the ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products is not a gimmick as they are waterproof and stay on the pet dogs for at least a month.

Some of the facts to be known about the ‘Advantage’ flea dogs’ products are that they can stop the biting fleas just within 3 to 5 minutes after their application. The fleas’ larvae are killed within 20 minutes and 98% of existing fleas are eliminated within 12 hours.

Many people deal with pests problems in their home. One of the worst pest problems of all can be bedbugs. While not a technical term for them, they have been lovingly called this because that is where they like to make their homes. Feeding off of humans and animals in a household, these critters really can give any family problems. Bed bugs were all but extinct in the 1940’s but their species have been making a comeback as of late. They are persistent little pests that can be tough to kill and eliminate from your home or business for good. This is mostly due to different species developing a resistance to pesticides, even DDT and other highly effective pest killers.

Bedbugs from the naked eye appear to be like little oval shaped bugs that can range anywhere from 2-7mm. Bedbugs can be mistaken for ticks or small cockroaches in most instances, which are both much more serious issues. This being said, bedbugs can also cause cimicosis. Cimicosis is a skin disease that leads to small bumps or welts on your skin. These bumps can be more serious and often more itchy versions of mosquito bites. They tend to last longer as well. Some bite are invisible even, but they still cause a lot of itchy skin.

Bedbugs are nocturnal, meaning they like to feed and are the most active when it is dark outside. They can survive for up to a year without feeding although they often feed quite a bit more if they have a source of food. Bedbugs feed in the most interesting way. It has a stinger that is made up of 2 tubes, one will numb the skin while the other simultaneously draws blood until they have had their fill.

There are many other animals and pests that would love to eliminate bedbugs in your home, but this is not practical for most people to own, since most are all other insects and rodents. Bats however do not like to eat bedbugs because they secrete a pheramone that makes them very unpalatable.

Believe it or not, but there are about 100 different species of the common bedbug that are known to man. The scientific name for bedbugs is Cimicidae. Most species o bedbugs live in temperate or tropical environments. If you live in a harsh cold climate you are probably safe from dealing with most types of bedbugs. There are some species of bedbugs that don’t like humans, they can only feed on animals and live in fur. Most species would prefer animals to humans anyway. This is a good reason to get your pets checked and kept clean on a regular basis.

The salivary fluid injected by bed bugs can cause skin to become irritated and inflamed, although individuals can differ in their sensitivity. A few cases of bullous eruptions have been reported Anaphylactoid reactions from the injection of serum and other nonspecific proteins are observed and the saliva of the bedbugs may cause anaphylactic shock, though rarely. In rare cases of intense and neglected infestation, sustained feeding by bedbugs may lead to anemia. Secondary bacterial infection (i.e., infections from scratching itchy skin too much) are possible. Systemic poisoning may occur if the bites are numerous. The World Health Organization reported in 2008 that bedbugs may cause bronchial asthma through the release of airborne allergens and that numerous bedbug bites may cause victims to become more susceptible to other diseases, as well as causing “general malaise.

There are a few many options for eradicating bedbugs and often times can be confusing for most people. As a rule of thumb you should try and keep your bed and areas where pets spend a lot of time as clean as you can. This will lower your chances of an infestation starting in your home. Sometimes this process may not work and then you can have thermal treatments of your entire house as a worst case scenario, or most can be controlled with a chemical treatment. Always consult a professional if you are unsure that your pest control tactics have been effective.

“I couldn’t believe that my home was taken over by blood sucking fleas. Luckily, I found a product that fixed all my flea problems.”

Is your pet suffering from an itch they can’t seem to scratch? Are you starting to notice an itch all over your body? Is your home infested with fleas?

Many pet owners deal with a flea infestation at least once, but did you know that pets are not the only ones bringing in fleas? Fleas are not shy. They will ride on anything or anyone. Even you can bring in fleas from outside. Well, what I came across will eliminate fleas easily and effectively from your home, but before we go into that let’s begin with a little information.

Is it really a flea infestation you are dealing with?

1. Pet Excessively Scratching – Does one of your pets itch more than normal? A pet being itchy is usually the first sign, but not the only. Your pet may simply have a rash or dry skin from too much sun. Even really cold weather conditions will make them itchy.

2. Small Red Bumps – Pay attention to your ankles. Because one of the most common place for fleas is the carpet they get to your ankles first. So look for little red bumps there that will typically go away in a few days. If your children are on the floor they may have these bumps all over.

How do you get rid of fleas in your home?

Before you start make sure you have at least a few hours to complete all three steps. If you don’t rid your home, your yard, and your pets at the same time then your flea infestation will come back.

(1) Flea Free Pets

- Comb Your Pets – Use a flea comb to pull the fleas out your pets fur.

- Use Flea Powder – Evenly spread powder over your pet. This kills those flea eggs and larvae so they don’t grow up to multiply into another flea infestation.

(2) Getting Rid Of Fleas In The Home

- Take a antibacterial cleaner and clean the surfaces of your home. Make sure you get the counters, cabinets, tables, and floors. Fleas enjoy humid areas so clean the basement and garage floors too.

- Vacuum all areas of the home. When vacuuming get those dark corners with the vacuum attachment. These are some of a fleas favorite areas.

- After vacuuming sprinkly powder evenly over the carpet.

- To finish the home wash, dry, and then sprinkly powder over couch surfaces, and bedding.

(3) Flea Free Yard

- Take that same flea powder and evenly coat the lawn and concrete.

- Do this at the end of every spring to prevent any fleas from multipling.

Warning: Read all the labels and directions on any product before you begin to use anywhere in your home, on your pet, or in your yard. Before most products are not safe for pets, or children. Also keep in mind that products should not be spread over gardens especially food gardens.

Can’t figure out why fleas keep coming back?

Mankind has always been attracted to beauty. We can still look with admiration at great, early Egyptian art and at the unsurpassed sculpture and architecture of classical Greece.

At no time through the long passage of history has humanity not been expressed through art. In every corner of the world, in every society, known as civilized or uncivilized, art, as an expression of that society, has flowered.

In Australia, anthropologists discovered, beneath a shaded rock shelf, a long gallery of aboriginal art, with depictions of the hunt, men and women and native animals. The question was how old was this undiscovered art gallery?

All was revealed when one scientist noticed a now, stone like wasp’s nest covering a section of art work. The once sandy, but now rock hard wasp nest was gently removed in total darkness, so as not to let light enter the covered section.

A tiny sample of the hidden area was removed and sent for carbon dating – the answer came back, the gallery was 60,000 years old! Men and women had decorated their environment.

Art, in it’s vast range of expressions, has always appeared at the apex of human achievement.

It raises humanity, it does not destroy, it uplifts humanity, it does not darken, its music nourishes the soul of humanity, it does not deplete, it unites mankind, it does not separate.

Art, in every form, flourishes today, more than at any other time in history. In the past, art was exclusive; today it is inclusive and is available to anyone who decides to be involved.

One of arts greatest gifts is its ability to constantly give, its resources are infinite, it holds in trust, thousands of years of the greatest artistic talent and freely offers it to all without reserve.

Just like music, with its cornerstones, like J.S Bach, who, we are told by musicologists, is the founding father of all Western music, even the most contemporary owes is origins to Bach.

Bach’s great music still gives and gives, even when the recipient never realizes that he is the recipient of the gift. The history of art, in all its forms does exactly the same thing, great pictures not only inspire an artist, but they continue to teach and instruct with lessons in composition, perspective and balance.

Every century has had and will continue to have, its “style of the day” and art, like every thing else, is voguish, with its periods of fashion, e.g., rococo, classic, neo classic, cubist, impressionist and revivalist, all available and always ready to give.

These periods are usually seen as the birth of new ideas and as with the birth of a child, the infant, or new idea, grows and develops, until it, in turn, is overtaken by a fresh, new idea.

Art, therefore. Is a living, breathing form, constantly reborn in all its many facets

If we can imagine “art” as an allegorical figure, a curator of the world’s storehouse of music, pictures, literature, sculpture etc, we would need many more than one life time to see all she had to show us!

We may not always understand the art of our day, but it is well worth remembering that many of the great names, now revered as masters, were not accepted as such in their day, but were criticized, rejected and certainly unaccepted as artists in their day. Its worth recalling, by example, that the great Dutch painter, Van Gough, sold exactly one picture, in his lifetime!

Art constantly sets new challenges for all our five senses so let us follow our allegorical guide and welcome what she has to show us.

An artistic style, once formed, never dies, but is always present to be revisited at any time. An example would be the French Rococo development of the Chinoiserie style with its fusion of European and Chinese style of drawing, or, how the 18th century Europeans imagined all things ‘Oriental’.

The popularity of Chinoiserie may have peaked around the middle of the eighteenth century, but its value as an arresting, artistic and interior decorative style has never waned, being constantly revisited, but, with all its formal elements preserved.

One of the outstanding French painters of Chinoiserie was François Boucher (1703-1770) Boucher was perhaps the most celebrated decorative artist of the 18th century, with most of his work reflecting the lush Rococo style.

The Antique & Vintage Table Lamp Co has commissioned lamps to be painted from a leading French porcelain painter. The first of these beautiful lamps is a little accent lamp with an overall height of … superbly painted with “The Music Lesson”.

This style of painting, now over 250 years old, is faithfully reproduced in all its subtle detail, with its formal 18th century

elements preserved. Here is a perfect example of art as practical, whilst remaining true to its traditional origins.

The company is currently accepting commission orders for these lamps. There is no element of mass production, with each lamp being a unique work of art. Please enquire.

“Rhetorical question”; why is it we can only aspire to be financially free? Will hitting the lottery for millions of dollars give you financial freedom? If you do not have a million dollar income, what do you think will eventually happen to your millions? Ok, big ideas do start out as dreams but if you do not implement anything that is all they are, dreams.

It seems to me that we under utilize our capacity to take on challenges outside of the norm. What I mean is, it can be a daunting task to go to a job 5 to 6 days out of the week, work 8+ hours a day, take care of home and family, then try to start a home based business that will give you the financial freedom you deserve.

The “rat race” is a term used to describe work schedules shared by a large number of individuals and it has been widely used by Robert Kiyosaki in his “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” books. (Great books, by-the-way).

For example, in a heavily populated areas the “rats” converge on the highways, byways, streets and public transportation trying to get to or coming from work.

Those in route to their jobs are often “on edge” which causes a great deal of stress. Stress is not something any of us want accumulating out of control.

The alternative is a successful home based business that allows you freedom to stay at home and avoid the work rush, freedom to enjoy some of the daily pleasures you miss while at work, freedom to indulge in things your previous financial situation would not allow.

Being self employed would allow you to call your own shots and relieve stress associated with the travel to work (and the work, at work).

Some that are “self employed” have associated work stress because of the field they chose, location, employees, etc. Restaurants, bars, clubs, convenience stores, etc all have stressful day to day demands. You can leave those stressful positions to those that chose them.

“An online home based business will not take you away from your home but you can take your business anywhere ” . This is financial freedom planning.

Not having to leave home to get paid or get paid while your anywhere, doing anything is freedom at its best.

If you have a stressful household or the company you keep that is another issue you will have to work out. My advise to you is how to achieve work related financial freedom.

Removing the elements of having to follow a dress code, be on time and punch a time clock can possibly lower your blood pressure and other stress related symptoms.

Studies show that driving related stress is most common in society today. The anticipation of your destination and road rage can raise blood pressure.

Financial freedom lowers stress related to finances; that coupled with the fact that you did not have to leave home will work out in your best interest.

Fleas are the most common cause of itching and skin irritation in cats. Over 90 percent of all skin allergies in cats are due to fleas.

The allergy is actually a reaction to a protein component of the fleas’ saliva. When these “allergic cats” are bitten by a flea they itch themselves until their skin is raw.

Most also end up with areas of hair loss and secondary bacterial skin infections. In addition, fleas suck blood, cause anemia, and transmit tapeworms.

FACT: Fleas can jump 3-feet high

SIGNS YOUR CAT HAS A FLEA PROBLEM

- Itching head, neck and ears.
- Flea dirt
- Hair loss on head and neck area.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Signs of fleas include itching, especially on the head and neck, and tiny black specks that look like dirt. To confirm that this “dirt” is flea dirt, place it on a cotton ball moistened with water. Flea dirt will turn red because of the blood it contains.

Once your cat has been diagnosed with a flea problem, you need to treat all of the pets in the home and the home itself. In your house, vacuum the carpets and throw away used vacuum bags so that flea eggs do not hatch in the bag.

For your carpeting, try an insect-growth regulator like Pyriproxifen or Methoprine. These are hormone analogies and prevent the flea larvae from developing into an adult. These last up to 18 months.

As an alternative, you can sprinkle sodium polyborate powder, which is “borax”, onto the carpet, then vacuum. This will protect against fleas for up to one year. Be sure to wash your cat’s bedding with hot soapy water.

Finally, bathe all the animals living in your home. Use a flea shampoo with pyrethrins or d-limolene as the active ingredient.

In your yard, natural products that contain nematodes provide the best protection. Nematodes are live microscopic worms that eat the larval and pupal forms of fleas and 250 other outdoor pests. Methoprene (used in Acclaim 2000) and Pyriproxifen (used in Indorex) are also available as yard sprays. One application can last from six to twelve months.

FACT: Constant itching may be a sign that your cat is allergic to fleas.

WARNING

Fleas can life up to one year in your home and yard. If your cat is allergic to fleas, one flea bite sets up a reaction that can cause itching for up to 14 days. Fleas also bite people and other pets. The cat flea (Ctenocephalides felis) is often the primary problem for cats, dogs and people.

Cats are very susceptible to toxic reactions from flea control products containing traditional insecticides such as Organophosphates and Carbamates. Be sure to read labels and only use products specifically approved for your cat.

WHAT YOUR VET CAN DO

Today, prevention is the key to flea control. Many new products are available that last up to 30 days or more and are safe enough for kittens but must be prescribed by your vet. Program is a tablet given monthly or that contains Lufenuron which causes fleas to lay sterile eggs which do not hatch therefore, environmental contamination is also prevented.

Advantage, Frontline, and Revolution are also preventative products available in a liquid form, which are applied to the skin between the shoulder blades at 30-day intervals.

Advantage kills fleas.

Frontline kills adult fleas on contact and prevents ticks on cats and dogs. It has an alcohol base, which has occasionally caused problems in cats.

Revolution is used to prevent fleas, heartworm disease and ear mites.

Regardless of the product used, prevention should start in the spring, when the outdoor temperature reaches 65-70F on a regular basis.

Fleas live primarily in the environment and not on your pet. They only stay on your pets long enough to get a blood meal, then jump back down to the ground and lay more eggs. The presence of just one flea on your cat means that thousands more are nearby, that’s why prevention is so important.

FACT: In cats, fleas prefer the head and neck. Fleas bite the ankles and lower legs in people.

In this time of recession, property owners and management professionals, like other business people, are looking for ways to cut costs. One place to cut costs is service contractors. One of the first services to be leaned on for price concessions or to be cancelled is pest control. But property executives should think long and hard before making any cuts in this area. The decision to attempt the realization of cost savings by reducing or eliminating this vital service could be a huge mistake, with serious consequences for your profitability. I recommend that you change your thinking in such a way that you view pest control as very reasonably priced insurance, against potentially huge losses. Why do I say this? Read on and find out.

In most states, counties, cities and towns across the U.S. pest control is the responsibility of the landlord, period, end of discussion; Even if the tenant is responsible for originally bringing the pest onto the premises or creating the conditions conducive to pest infestation. The tenant is viewed, by many, whether rightly or wrongly, as the innocent, little guy who is dominated by the big, evil, money-hungry landlord. Property managers should keep in mind that this isn’t going to change any time soon. A growing number of government agencies are putting tenant-protection regulations in place which mandate scheduled, inspections of properties, by government agents. Those agents are looking for violations of rental property statutes where the health and safety of tenants are concerned. In these times of shrinking tax receipts and revenues, they’re sure to be interested in enhancing their agencies’ cash flow by levying any and all fines that they can, within the law. In some parts of the country an uncontrolled pest infestation can cost hundreds of dollars per violation, per day! One source recently told me that in some parts of California such fines can cost a landlord in excess of $1,000.00 per day, per infested unit. In one case a management company was threatened with fines of $1500.00 per day!

But fines are not the only concern when it comes to pests. Creatures such as rodents, cockroaches, bats and feral birds carry and transmit dozens of diseases that can infect humans. If a tenant is infected by exposure to uncontrolled pests a property owner may be sued for large sums of money. In our ever-increasingly litigious society there are plenty of plaintiff’s attorneys waiting to take cases and go for large settlements or awards, “on behalf of,” any clients who desire generous compensation.

The last leg of this three-legged stool and possibly the one with the biggest impact over time, is reputation, which affects the marketability of rental units. Once a property, management company or property owner gets a bad reputation because of serious vermin (and other pest) problems, rehabilitation of that image will be difficult, to put it mildly. The resulting rise in vacancy rates can be devastating to the bottom line. I personally know of more than one case where entire buildings had to be vacated and treated from top to bottom to eliminate cockroaches and other pests. Following that, the properties had to be renamed and remarketed to rehabilitate them into profitable ventures.

To summarize: Cutting costs by cutting pest control services can have a serious and expensive impact, beyond the original investment in these vital services. It seems to me that the much wiser approach is to continue retaining the services of a pest professional; A decision that will help guard against expensive, future losses.

In the good old days many home owners had a large metal dustbin that they would place all their rubbish into before placing the large heavy lid on top. However, times move on and very few of us have a metal rubbish bin; instead a wide variety of wheelie bins and recycling bins adorn our streets.

In some areas, rubbish is deposited on the curbside in black bags and the result is that in many areas the bags attract vermin and other pests and rubbish can be leaked over the street; having been ripped open by foxes, cats and other animals.

And it’s not just homeowners and those that use black bags either. Even modern wheelie bins can be knocked over by some pests and for businesses, especially ones that dispose of large quantities of food waste – failing to keep flies, rodents and roaches at bay can lead to closure of the business.

Types of pest

There are all sorts of animals that find human waste appealing. For homeowners the biggest problem can be foxes, cats and dogs. They can knock open bins or rip open bags causing mess and nuisance.

But for takeaway and fast food businesses the problem is exacerbated by the sheer volume of waste they dispose of. Flies, cockroaches, mice and rats can be easily attracted but difficult to get rid of, and even if the problem doesn’t lead to the local authority closing the business – if word gets out a lack of customers might.

A good lid wil help prevent vermin

And new pests are starting to get attracted to the waste in cities too. Gulls, once only seen around the coast; plague nearly every city and town.

Preventing Vermin

Prevention is always better than cure and keeping pests away from your rubbish can be easy o accomplish by following these basic steps.

To prevent large animals from getting into your bin – ensure you have a sturdy and strong outdoor bin. Make sure it has a heavy lid too.
If food waste is thrown away and stored outside, it is essential it is kept in a rubbish bin with a tight fitting lid. This will prevent smells and prevent your rubbish appealing to the local wildlife.
Clean the bin regularly; use bin deodorisers if necessary otherwise you may find the detritus in a dirty bin attracts flies.
Think of other methods of getting rid of food waste; composting is one idea.

Underneath the fur of your pet feline are fleas, tiny parasites that suck their blood. Most cats found at home are the hosts of these cat fleas although they are also seen to infect other animals like rabbits and dogs. Fleas are a common occurrence in a dog’s or cat’s body although in very few amounts. Make sure that it does not develop into Flea Allergy Dermatitis which is a precursor of more serious problems with regards to the skin. An increase in the number of fleas however may lead to a severe loss of blood, causing the host to be anemic. Fleas are also notorious for being carriers for several other parasites such as tapeworm and other organisms.

What are the signs to check if your pet cat has a flea infection? First and most obvious sign is frequent biting and scratching of their fur as if something is irritating them. Since cats normally scratch their fur, it is also vital that you actually take a closer look at your cat’s skin to check for the presence of dark brown crawling insects. It would be quite hard to see if your cat has dark fur so it is also suggested to inspect their beddings as well.

Whenever cats are scratching their fur, these pesky fleas fall off. Another way of checking of the presence of these blood sucking-insects is to rub the fur lightly while they are standing on a big sheet of white paper. Apply a demister afterwards. The presence of dark brown marks with red stains on the paper is a positive indicator of the existence of fleas on your feline.

Removing the fleas from your cat is not quite easy to do since they are found to react quite sensitively to chemicals. There are some products available on the market to help eradicate this problem and leave you feline flea free.

A flea collar is the most common form of a cat flea removal product. Poison is found on these collars in enough quantities to kill those adult fleas on and in the vicinity of the neck and head region. However, the fleas existing on the lower part of the body are not affected.

Another product is the flea shampoo that contains chemicals that can exterminate the fleas. Extreme care must be used to avoid irritating the skin of the cat and causing them much discomfort.

A chemical free technique to get rid of these cat fleas, especially the adult ones is by using a flea comb. Be prepared with a bowl of water with a bit of detergent mixed into it to put the gathered fleas in to drown. Putting a dollop of petroleum jelly on the flea comb can help catch the fleas by letting them stick on the comb easily.

Flea powders may also be utilized but not frequently to avoid drying and irritating the fur and skin of your pet feline.

Oral medicines may be mixed with their food which will be taken up into the blood. When the fleas feed on the blood, it will act by preventing the maturation of their eggs. This method is best used in combination with another method that effectively kills the adult cat flea.

Application of topical creams and ointments may also be effective, depending on brand and the degree of flea infestation. It is usually applied once every month until the cat is free of fleas.

For a successful management of these cat fleas, the area where the cat usually stays is treated as well. These fleas frequently hide in carpets, curtains, beds, and anywhere conducive to its existence. For a total eradication of these cat fleas, it is a highly suggested to have the whole house cleaned and treated from top to bottom, indoors and outdoors. Other pets are also included in the flea free program.

Lastly, it is always recommended to consult with your neighborhood veterinarian first before using any flea removing product to make sure that both you and your feline is safe and on his way to becoming flea free.

Mankind has always been attracted to beauty. At no time through the long passage of history has humanity not been expressed through art.

In every corner of the world, in every society, known as civilized or uncivilized, art, as an expression of that society, has flowered.

We can still look with admiration at great, early Egyptian art and at the unsurpassed sculpture and architecture of classical Greece.

In Australia, anthropologists recently discovered, a long gallery of aboriginal art beneath a shaded rock shelf with depictions of the hunt, men and women and native animals. The question was how old was this undiscovered art gallery?

All was revealed when one scientist noticed a now, stone like wasp’s nest covering a section of art work. The once sandy, but now rock hard wasp nest was gently removed in total darkness, so as not to let light enter the covered section. A tiny sample of the hidden area was removed and sent for carbon dating – the answer came back, the gallery was 60,000 years old. 60,000 years ago, men and women were decorating their environment!

Art, in it’s vast range of expressions, has always appeared at the apex of human achievement. It raises humanity, it does not destroy, it uplifts, it does not darken, its music nourishes the soul of humanity, it does not deplete, it unites mankind, it does not separate.

Art, in every form, flourishes today, more than at any other time in history. In the past, art was exclusive; today it is inclusive and is available to anyone who decides to be involved.

One of art’s greatest gifts is its capacity and ability to constantly give. Its resources are infinite. It holds in trust, thousands of years of the greatest artistic talent and freely offers it to all without reserve.

Just like music, with its cornerstones, like J.S Bach, who, we are told by musicologists, is the founding father of all Western music, even the most contemporary owes is origins to Bach. Bach’s great music still gives and gives, even when the recipient never realizes that he is the recipient of the gift.

The history of art, in all its forms does exactly the same thing. Great pictures not only inspire an artist, but they continue to teach and instruct with lessons in composition, perspective and balance.

Every century has had and will continue to have, its “style of the day” and art, like every thing else, is voguish, with its periods of fashion, e.g., rococo, classic, neo classic, cubist, impressionist and revivalist, all available and always ready to bestow.

These periods are usually seen as the birth of new ideas and as with the birth of a child, the infant, or new idea, grows and develops, until it in turn, is overtaken by a fresh, new idea. Art, therefore is a living, breathing form, constantly reborn in all its many facets.

We may not always understand the art of our day, but it is well worth remembering that many of the great names, now revered as masters, were not accepted as such in their day, but were criticized, rejected and certainly unaccepted as artists in their time. The great Dutch painter, Van Gogh, sold exactly one picture, in his lifetime!

If we can imagine “art” as an allegorical figure, a curator of the world’s storehouse of music, pictures, literature, sculpture etc, we would need many more than one life time to see all she has to show us!
Art constantly sets new challenges for all our five senses so let us follow our allegorical guide and welcome her vast wealth.
